Often a person applying for credit, a mortgage, or employment, will discover that a criminal defendant has the same name. When it becomes necessary to legally distinguish a criminal from another person, the Office of the District Attorney can assist by issuing a Letter of Distinguishment. There is a $50 user service fee, payable by money order or credit card payment, for this service. Note: we can only issue Letters of Distinguishment for the criminal cases our office has prosecuted.
